Old News- Back to the Future: How do they get it sooooo wrong…??! In the classic 1985 movie Back To The Future, Marty McFly, aka Michael J Fox gets up on stage and belts out a version of Johnny B Goode which gets the whole joint rockin’. Just a couple of things….the movie is set in 1955 and Johnny B Goode didn’t come out until 1958, BUT, we’ll let that one go, what we won’t let go is that the guitar he’s playing, a cherry red ES 345 wasn’t released by Gibson until 1959/60…!!
Norm Harris from Norman’s Rare Guitars rented the guitar to the production company and joins us to spill the beans.
