DON PEAKE - "How I got the gig with Ray Charles"
Don Peake was one of LA's top studio guitarists in the 60's and 70's. Don talks about how he got the gig playing with Ray Charles in 1964. He played on countless hit records as well as a sideman on the road. Some of the artists he recorded with or played for are: The Everly Brothers, Ray Charles, The Jackson 5, Marvin Gaye, Sonny & Cher, Dina Ross, The Temptations, The Beach Boys, Billy Preston, Ike and Tina Turner, The Righteous Brothers, and many many more. I am sure you know the intro Wah Wah guitar lick on Marvin Gaye's huge mega hit, "Let's Get It On"? that is Don Peake.
