Griff Hamlin Lessons - Chasing Chords In The Style Of ZZ Top And SRV
For blues and blues/rock soloing, many times we take a simple approach of just using the minor pentatonic/blues scale for the whole thing...And while that works over 12 bar blues changes, sometimes it sounds better when there is some other chord progression (especially if you've got some time on each chord) to play "chase the chord." So in this video I'll show you how I like to do that over a couple of progressions similar to ZZ Top's "Cheap Sunglasses" and "Couldn't Stand The Weather" by Stevie Ray Vaughan.
